Dusk

In my world, there are just as many fans of neo-gothic vampire fiction just as in yours, possibly even more. This is an example of such a book.

Most vampire books in my world are written from the point of view of the male protagonist. He's usually young, good-looking (no duh!) and has some quality that sets him apart from the rest of the pack, like maybe he's an empath, or likes reading old books about ancient herbal remedies, or maybe he just has oddly colored hair. Fast forward to Chapter 3 and he makes eye contact with some frighteningly beautiful woman who turns out to be an all-powerful vampire who bites him and turns him into one of her immortal lovers and he has to end up proving himself in some task such as seducing a rival vampire in their underworld political struggle and in doing so, risks his undead life, and she realizes that he means more to her than just some pawn in her dark machinations. Well at least that's how this one goes, summarized in a run-on sentence. Boys in my world lap this sort of thing up though.

I'm not really a fan of vampire fiction in your world, but I do recommend this one set of stories by an author known as trilby else. There are no giantesses or shrunken men in these stories, but rather, they involve mind-controlling lesbian vampires. The first one is called Giveaway, the sequel is Freerange and there's a third sequel of sorts called Quarry although the last is kind of short and not really as good. The first two though, to me at least, are perfect reading if you like your Halloweens mind-numbingly hot instead of cold and creepy.

Before or After, It's Always Time for More Advertising

Some cigarette companies in my world play on the image of the rugged individualism of cowgirls astride horses in the American West, while others just use a whole lot of sex to sell their wares.

You may be wonderin', would bare breasts be allowed on advertising billboards on my world? And I would tell you that yes, yes they are. We're not as prudish about bodies and body parts over here in my world, unlike in yours, and over here, full nudity of both women and men can be found on giant billboards plastered over city skylines and highway-sides. But more on that later.

As an aside, these ads are a nod to one of my favorite online authors, marknew742 who wrote two of my favorite stories, Tara's Lathe and Matt & Emma. His stories are novella-length, and he puts in a lot of effort into creating believable situations and characters. I don't share his love of hugely muscular women though, but it's easy to read past that and just enjoy the scenarios he creates of worlds where women become the stronger sex, physically and so much more.

A Question of Scale

In my earlier work, I really didn't pay that much attention to relative scale. In other words, I'd throw men and women together into a collage without measuring properly what ratio of sizes they would have. I started becoming a lot stricter when I became serious about portraying an alternate universe where women are the taller and stronger sex. I've been going back and fixing the scales in all my old images worth keeping and posting.

The scale I usually chose for my earlier work was a very vaguely-defined half-height. There were a few reasons behind this. Part of the inspiration for my fantasy world was based on a story by CLH titled After the Apple Fell. In it, an unexplained worldwide phenomenon occurs during the turn of the millennium, causing all males to eventually shrink to half their previous height. The story is about a day in the life of.... Aw hell, just go read it yourself. CLH is a fabulous writer, creates wonderful and memorable characters, and infuses his stories with a warm sense of humor. I only wish there were more of them to go around.

Anyway, this scale appealed to me because even the tallest and strongest man would be weaker than the smallest fully-grown woman. I felt it was a good basis for me to work with visually. Of course, in my world, there was never a cataclysmic change and it's always been like this. Here, the female of the species are generally larger, and, according to trinket999ism, human evolution favored taller, more athletic women – the better to protect helpless men against such predatory menaces as saber-toothed tigers and the like – who in their turn, preferred smaller men who were easier to drag back to their caves for some convenient selective reason that I haven't bothered to work out. Evolutionary pressure thus led to this extreme sexual dimorphism.

In modern times, most boys are attracted to strong, athletic women who excel in physical activity, because it's just hardwired into their genes (and if one ain't, he's one of them weird boys and he ain't never gonna find himself a good woman). Women in this world are taller than in ours, with more upper-body development and lankier builds. I scaled our b-baller from my original collage to make her appear taller (using the basketball as a size hint) – around 6'8" – and modified her body proportions to have broader shoulders and longer legs appropriate for her height; the boys are around 3'6". At that height, she's a star on her college ball team, and boys are of course, literally throwing themselves at her everywhere she goes, even when she's not showing off for them.
